iPhone to be released in “Major” EU countries Pre-Xmas 2007
July 27th, 2007 | by Colm |So, Apple have offered a breadcrumb or two.
The report from El Reg quotes a Q3 financial report from Apple. It says that whilst “Major” EU markets will recieve the iPhone in Q4 2007, Asia and other EU markets will have to wait until 2008. Also, network announcements will have to wait until Q4 2007.
So the question now is, does Apple deem Ireland a major market?
Obviously, in terms of population, we’re a minnow compared to England, France or Germany. But to be fair, we do spend a whack of money per capita on mobile services. Also playing in Ireland’s favour is the fact that Apple Europe is based in Cork, but we’ll just have to wait and see..
